DUBUQUE, Iowa-- The Wartburg women’s outdoor track and field team claimed its 14
th consecutive and 17
th overall Iowa Conference championship Saturday with 286 team points. The men's team also won to mark the first conference sweep since 2008.

"We graduated a lot of talent last year and I don't think other teams realized how much depth we had to accomplish what we did this weekend," said head coach Marcus Newsom. "To win the conference meet in the fashion we did this weekend with what we lost from last year was outstanding."
Kendra Kregel won the 400m dash (56.61), Monique Davisson won the triple jump (11.66m; 38'3.25") and Britlyn Sieck won the discus throw (45.45m; 149’1”).
Two competitors won two events as Sammi Bruett won the 5000m run (17:57.15) and the 3000m steeplechase (10:47.49), Tashina McAllister won the 100m hurdles (14.46) and the 400m hurdles (1:02.21).
The 4x100m relay team of Camesha Goods, Tashina McAllister, Sarah Boraas and Libbey Schubert won in a time of 48.09 and the 4x400 relay team of Karly Cochrane, Kayla Kregel, Kendra Kregel and McAllister won in 3:54.74

Hemann was named the femal MVP of the field events and McAllister was named the MVP of the track events. Hemann broke a two-year old school record in the shot put.
