WAVERLY, Iowa-- Top-ranked Wartburg (19-0 overall, 7-0 IIAC) defeated Loras 45-6 (2-13, 2-5) Friday to win its 24th consecutive and 34th overall Iowa Conference Championship.
WARTBURG vs. LORAS HIGHLIGHTS"This team and program are a family," said head coach Eric Keller. "For some of our guys it was their final match of their career. It's emotional as this group has done incredible things on the mat for Wartburg.
"(Winning the title) is an important stepping stone for us," he continued. "We will turn the page on Monday as we will start preparing for NCAA Regionals and the NCAA Championships."
