WAVERLY, Iowa—Wartburg's Athletic Director and head football coach, Rick Willis, has announced the 2018 schedule.
The Knights have recorded 25 consecutive winning seasons, which is tied for the fourth-longest streak in all NCAA divisions and own a 209-49 record (.810 winning percentage) over the last 24 seasons.
In 2017, Wartburg finished 12-1 overall, and ranked eighth in the final AFCA poll. This included the fifth undefeated regular season in program history, and were 8-0 in Iowa Conference games. The Knights also won their 15
th Iowa Conference Championship, and advanced to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Playoffs for the second time in the last four years.
Wartburg will open its 2018 campaign against Greenville University of Greenville, Ill. in Waverly on Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. This will be the inaugural meeting between the programs. The Knights are 10-0 in night home openers in the Walston-Hoover Stadium era (since 2001).
Wartburg will host Buena Vista in the Iowa Conference opener on Sept. 15.
The annual Homecoming game is scheduled for Oct. 20 against Central at 1:30 p.m.
