WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team received 79 votes in the AVCA Preseason Top 25 poll, the national organization announced this afternoon.

Seven of the Knights' opponents in the 2012 campaign appeared on this preseason list. The Orange and Black will face No. 5 Wittenburg, No. 7 St. Thomas, No. 11 Elmhurst, No. 12 Carthage, No. 17 UW-Whitewater, No. 19 Concordia-Moorhead and No. 24 Trinity (Texas).

Wartburg opens it season at the National Invitational, Aug. 31-Sep. 1 in Springfield, Ohio. The Knights will face fifth-ranked Wittenburg at 7:30 p.m. Friday and twenty-fourth ranked Trinity at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
