Coach Alan Johnson’s squad concluded its six-meet fall schedule with a 16th-place finish at Gustavus Adolphus’ Twin Cities Classic Oct. 11. Wartburg fired rounds of 318, 310 and 315 for a 943 total. Their score was just five strokes out of the top 13.
Senior Michael Dominick of Bayside, Calif., the team’s stroke average leader (77.7), ended the fall with a sparkling performance. His second round 71 at the Links of Northfolk on Oct. 10 was among the top rounds of the weekend. Dominick finished in a tie for 14th in the 107-golfer field with a 224. The freshman duo of John Sexton of Tripoli and Jared Thill of Pleasantville, as had been the case throughout the fall, was next in line. Sexton shot a 240 for a tie for 78th and Thill carded a 242 for a tie for 80th.
