SHEBOYGAN, Wis.—The Wartburg women’s basketball team moved to 2-0 on the year with its 76-54 win over Beloit College (2-1) Saturday in the Lakeland College Tournament Championship game.

Junior Abi Weidemann (Iowa Falls) and senior Leslie Wilson (Austin, Minn.) were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts.

Wilson was named the Tournament’s MVP as she led all scorers with her 21 points in the Championship Game.

Classmate Teri Dirks (Monticello) and sophomore Carly Jacobs (Greene) joined her in double digits with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Senior Stephanie Reiter (Buckingham) recorded a team-best five rebounds.

The Knights took the lead for good just three minutes into the game. The Orange and Black led by as many as 25 points in the second half.

Wartburg takes to the road next week and will face Grinnell Tuesday at 5 p.m. and compete in UW-LaCrosse’s tournament next weekend.
