A Look at the Teams:

Martin Luther:
The Knights come into the contest with a 5-4 record and coming off a lost to an Iowa Conference opponent in Dubuque, 73-69. The Knights are averaging about 69 points per game while shooting 39.3% from the floor but are very turnover prone, coughing the ball up over 20 times per contest.

Individually, a three-headed monster of scoring leads Martin Luther. Leading the way is Erica Babinec with her 16.7 points per game. She also leads the team in assists and steals per game with 3.2 and 3.0, respectively. Babinec is also second on the team in rebounding, pulling down 7.0 boards a night.

Amanda Burk is also a force to reckon with. Burk leads the team in rebounding, averaging 8.5 per game while helping out with 13.6 points per game, which is good for second on the team. Alex Anthon has also been helping with the offensive output, averaging 12.3 points a game.

Bethany Lutheran:
The Vikings come into Saturday’s matchup without a victory on the young season, starting 0-6. This may change before the Knights come to town as Bethany will face off against Waldorf College at home Thursday night. The Vikings have faced four Iowa Conference opponents this year, losing by a combined score of 318-195.

There have been a couple bright spots for Bethany this season. Jessica Englund leads the team in scoring with 15.8 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounds and blocks per game with 11.7 and 2.2 respectively.  Englund is also second on the squad in steals with 1.3 per game.

Another high-producing individual for the Vikings is Anna Cepek. Cepek is second on the team in scoring at 10.8 points per game but has only played in four of the teams' six games. Cepek also leads the team is assists per game with 1.8.

Wartburg:
The Knights come into these weekends’ contests with a 6-2 record but off the heels of a tight loss to Buena Vista last week in Storm Lake, 72-68. As a team, the Knights are averaging 67 points per contest while shooting 40% from the floor but turnovers have also been a problem for this team, averaging over 19 per night.

Like Martin Luther, Wartburg also feature a three-pronged attack on offense. Leading the charge is senior Stephanie Reiter (LaPorte City) with 12.6 points per game. Reiter also leads the team in assists (3.1/game), 3 pointers made (18).

Junior guard Abi Weidman (Iowa Falls) has also been a major contributing factor through eight games. Weidman is averaging 11.6 points per contest, which is good for second on the team. Weidman is also second on the team is assists (2.9/game) and third in steals (1.9/game)

Possibly the biggest contribution comes from the senior, Leslie Wilson (Austin, Minn.) The 5-9 forward is third on the team in scoring 11.3 pts/game), first in field goal percentage (63.6), first in rebounds (6.6/game), first in steals (3.0/game) and also leads the team in minutes (31.5/game).
