WAVERLY, Iowa-- The top-ranked Wartburg wrestling team (13-1 overall, 3-0 IIAC) defeated Iowa Conference opponent, Luther (9-3, 1-1) in shutout fashion, 36-0 Thursday night.

Second-ranked Kenny Anderson (Bilercia, Ma.) recorded his eighth pin of the season as he won by fall against Robert Patino.

Fourth-ranked Kodie Silvestri (Franklin, N.J.) and senior Ben Scott (Adel) brought their winning streaks to 11-straight matches and top-ranked Byron Tate (Clinton) brought his to ten with tonight's victories.

Senior Phil Hawes (Little Ferry, N.J.) won his inaugural bout in a Knight singlet with his 9-5 decision.

Anderson and fourth-ranked Tommy Mirocha (Davenport) also reached 20 wins on the season.

With the match win, Wartburg's Iowa Conference dual streak moves to 154 consecutive wins.

The Orange and Black return to the mat Saturday when they host No. 6 Cornell at 7 p.m.
