WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 1 ranked Wartburg wrestling team won its opening dual match against non-conference opponent, Waldorf (0-2 overall) Thursday.
This also marked the 397th career dual win for co-head coach Jim Miller.
Junior Gilberto Camacho (Fresno, Calif.) remained undefeated on the season (5-0) and picked up his first major decision of the season at 125.
Classmate Kenny Anderson (Billerica, Mass.) opened his season in shutout fashion with his 9-0 major decision at 133.
Freshman Landon Shea (Janesville, Wis.) recorded his first collegiate pin in his match at 141 and junior Brett Yonkovich (Manchester) had his first fall of the season at 157.
Junior Landon Williams (Davenport) tallied his team co-best third pin of the season at 165 and classmate Jase Schossow (Marshalltown) recorded his first technical fall of the year at 174.
Junior Ryan Fank (Independence) tallied his first major decision of the season at 285.
The Knights return to action this weekend at Concordia (Wis.) Open and the Augsburg Open.
