WAVERLY, Iowa-- A 43-point second-half helped Wartburg (2-1 overall) to a 66-51 win over UW-Platteville (2-2) Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Alyssa Sager (Albert Lea, Minn.) tallied a career-high 15 points, 10 in the first half alone.

Senior Abi Weidemann (Iowa Falls) had a team-best 16 points and finished a perfect 10-10 at the free throw line.

The Pioneers held the one point advantage (24-23) at halftime but the Knights compiled a 10-2 run over the first eight minutes of the second frame to take the 33-25 lead.

As a team, the Orange and Black held the advantages in field goal percentage (.435-.299), three-point field goal percentage (.364-.217), free throw percentage (.733-.500), rebounds (42-39) and steals (14-7).

Wartburg returns to the court Thursday when it travels to UW-Eau Claire for a 7 p.m. game.
