CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's tennis team defeated Cornell 5-1 Friday night at the Iowa Conference Tournament.

The Knights were the No. 5 seed and the Rams were the No. 4 seed.

In doubles play, Chris Buckingham and Josh Trueblood combined for the 8-6 win at the No. 1 spot.

Blayne Willadsen and Eric Hilpert won 8-6 at No. 3 while Brian Rasmussen and Dayton Stevens fell 8-4 at the No. 2 position.

In singles competition, Buckingham was victorious at No. 1 (6-1, 6-2), Hilpert won his No. 3 match 6-2, 6-1 and Willadsen prevailed at No. 4 (6-3, 6-2).

The Orange and Black will face top-seed Luther Saturday at 9 a.m.
