WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's basketball team had a strong second-half scoring effort, 38-36. against Loras Saturday. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to overcome the margin from the first half as Loras led 31-14 at the break and the Knights lost 67-52.

The Orange and Black are now 12-7 on the year and 5-3 against Iowa Conference opponents while the Duhawks are 16-3, 6-2.

Senior Abi Weidemann (Iowa Falls) led Wartburg with 12 points. She also added three assists. Classmate Baileigh O'Brien (Fort Dodge) had three blocked shots on the day.

The Knights held the team advantage in blocks (4-0).

The Orange and Black take to the road next week and will play Dubuque at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
