WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's basketball team moved to 9-4 overall and remained undefeated (2-0) in Iowa Conference play with its 69-38 win over Central (7-6, 0-2) Wednesday.

The Knights took the commanding 33-18 lead at halftime and were ahead by as many as 35 points in the second half.

The Orange and Black's defense held the Dutch to a field goal percentage of .191 and .000 from three-point range.

Wartburg also set a new season best for lowest points allowed by an opponent as the mark was previously 39 set against Monmouth at the Fighting Scot's tournament.

Junior Carly Jacobs (Greene) had a team-high 13 points and senior Abi Weidemann (Iowa Falls) was the second-leading scorer with 12 as she returned to the lineup from an injury.

The Knights travel to face No. 11 Simpson Saturday at 2 p.m.
