WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's basketball team (15-9 overall, 8-5 IIAC) defeated Buena Vista (11-13, 4-9) 71-58 Wednesday.

Junior Carly Jacobs (Greene) and freshman Bobbi Burrows (Bondurant) led the team with 17 and 13 points, respectively coming off the bench. Jacobs scored 11 of her total points in the second half alone.

Senior Baileigh O'Brien (Fort Dodge) had a team-best 11 rebounds.

The Knights took the 29-26 lead at halftime.

Buena Vista opened the second half 9-2 run over the first five minutes of play to take the 35-31 lead.

The Orange and Black answered with a 7-0 run over the next two minutes to regain the lead for good.

Wartburg's defense held the Beavers to a .290 field goal percentage on the night.

The Knights return to action Saturday at Luther at 2 p.m. in their final regular-season game.
