WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's basketball team (16-10 overall) fell 73-65 to Dubuque (20-7) Friday in the Iowa Conference semifinals.

Senior Baileigh O'Brien (Fort Dodge) led the team with 20 points while junior Carly Jacobs (Greene) joined her in double digits with 15.

Jacobs and freshman Kailey Kladivo (Traer) each had six rebounds on the night.

The Spartans took the 30-28 lead at halftime.

The Knights opened the second half on a 6-0 run over the first three minutes.

Dubuque answered and built its lead to nine (51-42) wiht 11:23 remaining.

The Orange and Black sliced the margin to one (66-65) with 2:12 to play.

The Spartans ended the game on a 7-0 run to earn the win and advance to the conference tournament championship game Sunday.
