Burrows Scores Career-High 30 in OT win over UW-Platteville

Box Score
PLATTEVILLE, Wis.-- Junior Bobbi Burrows (Bondurant) scored a career-high 30 points in Wartburg's 91-84 overtime win over UW-Platteville Friday.

The Knights moved to a perfect 3-0 on the season as they handed the Pioneers their first loss of the season.

Burrows finished with six three-pointers, just one shy of the school record. She had 17 of her total points in the first-half alone and went a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line.

Freshmen twins Katie and Kristie Sommer (Marion) joined Burrows in double digits with 17 and 13 points, respectively.

The Pioneers held the one-point advantage, 42-41 at halftime and the Knights outscored them 36-35 in the second frame. The Orange and Black trailed by ten points with 10:03 to play but battled back to tie the score twice, including with 19 seconds to play.

UWP made a free throw to go ahead with four seconds left but freshman Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) made her free throw with one second left to send the game to overtime.

After the Pioneers built a four-point lead early in the extra session, Wartburg took over and 14-2 run in the extra five minutes.

The Knights continue their road trip tomorrow as they play Elmhurst.
