INDIANOLA, Iowa-- Wartburg advanced to the semifinal of the Iowa Conference tournament with its 55-54 win over Simpson Tuesday. This marked the first win for the Knights in Indianola since Feb. 27, 2004 where they won, 71-51 in the semifinal game of the conference tournament that year.

Junior Alyssa Sager (Albert Lea, Minn.) led all scorers with 21 points and scored 16 in the second half alone. She recorded her third double-double of the season as pulled down 12 rebounds.

The Orange and Black led 20-14 at halftime. The Storm started the second frame on a 12-0 run in the first three minutes to take the 26-20 lead. The lead changed hands seven times in half and was tied at 50 all with 1:06 remaining.

Wartburg took the three-point lead (55-52) with 0:21 left. Simpson made both of its free throws to cut the lead to one with a second left. The Knights were able to hold on to the ball to seal the win as time expired.

The Orange and Black travel to Dubuque to face top-seed Loras Thursday at 7 p.m.
