Knights Fall in Heartbreaker to Duhawks in OT

Bilderback had a career-high 14 points Saturday.
Box Score
DUBUQUE, Iowa-- Wartburg narrowly fell 66-65 to Loras Saturday in its fourth overtime game of the year.

Sophomore Kailey Kladivo (Traer) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Elisa Bilderback (Platteville, Wis.) joined her in double digits with a career-high 14 points.

The Duhawks held the slight lead, 28-26 at halftime, but the Knights outscored them in the second frame, 31-29.

The score was knotted at 50-50 with 5;27 to play but the Orange and Black compiled a 5-0 run over the next two minutes thanks to a trey by junior Chelsey Wedeking (Nashua) and a layup by Bilderback to take the 55-50 lead. Loras cut the lead to two (57-55) with 1:23 to go and tied it with :20 to play to send it to overtime.

In the extra session, neither team led by more than two and the Duhawks hit the game-winning three with 14 seconds left.

Wartburg's final shot attempt was unfortunately unsuccessful to give the win to Loras.

The Knights return to action Wednesday when they open a two-game homestand against Simpson at 6 p.m.
