Wartburg Takes Down First-Place Dubuque

Box Score
WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg moved to 14-9 on the season and 5-7 in Iowa Conference play with its 63-57 win over first-place Dubuque (15-8, 9-3) Saturday.

Two players, junior Bobbie Burrows (Bondurant) and freshman Kristie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) finished in double digits with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Spartans led 31-24 at halftime but the Knights opened the second half on an 11-0 run over the first six and a half minutes to regain the lead which they never relinquished. The Orange and Black built their lead to 11 four times in the remainder of the game.

As a team, Wartburg held the advantages in free throws, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals in the win.

The Knights take to the road for their final two games of the regular-season as they travel to face Luther Wednesday at 6 p.m.
