Neuendorf, Burrows Tally Double Digits in Loss to Coe

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Sophomore Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) and senior Bobbie Burrows (Bondurant) led Wartburg with 16 and 14 points, respectively in Wednesday's 71-65 oss to Coe.

The Knights are now 13-4 overall and 3-4 in IIAC games while the Kohawks moved to 11-6, 2-4.

The game was tied 32 all at halftime and the Orange and Black held the 47-46 lead at the end of the third quarter. The score was knotted once more in the fourth quarter at 52 all with 7:43 to play. Wartburg kept it close and cut Coe's margin to one point with 5:39 to go and again with 1:08 on the clock. A trey by the Kohawks as the shot clock expired gave them the 66-62 lead with 25 seconds left. After a Knight turnover, they quickly fouled and Coe made both free throws to make it a six-point game.

A three by Burrows sliced the lead in half to make it a three-point game with 13 seconds to play. The Orange and Black then fouled to put the Kohawks on the line to try to get the ball back. Coe made three of its four free throws to seal the win.

As a team, Wartburg held the advantages in free throw percentage (.750 vs. .700), blocks (5-0), steals (8-4), assista (15-11) and offensive rebounds (14-12).
