Men's Cross Country to Compete in NCAA Championships

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg men's cross country team travels to Louisville this week to compete in the NCAA DIII National Championships on Saturday.

Spalding University and the Louisville Sports Commission are serving as hosts. This marks the first time in NCAA history that the Division III cross country championships will take place in the state of Kentucky The men's 8k race, held at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park, will begin at 11 a.m.

In the latest USTFCCCA poll, the Knights took in the 17th spot, making a significant jump from their previous ranking of 32nd. This is the poll position is a five-year best for Wartburg.

Saturday marks the first NCAA appearance for the Orange and Black under the direction of first-year Coach Ryan Chapman. Last season Wartburg placed 30th at the Nationals.
