INDIANOLA, Iowa-- The No. 9/10 Wartburg women's basketball team moved to 6-0 on the year and 2-0 in Iowa Conference play in the 76-60 win over Simpson (1-5, 0-1). Juniors Katie Sommer (Marion) and Miranda Murphy (Alleman) led the team with 26 and 21 points, respectively. Sommer's total was one shy of her career-best and Murphy was four from her career mark.



Classmate Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) rounded out the leading scorers with 11 points while junior Aryn Jones (Marion) had a team-best nine rebounds.

The Knights led 44-31 at halftime but the Storm sliced the margin to five with 7:48 to play. The Orange and Black responded with a 9-3 run over the next four minutes to increase their lead to double digits once more.

Wartburg held the advantage in rebounds, 44-33 which included 11 offensive rebounds.

The Knights conclude their road trip Wednesday at Coe for a 6 p.m. game.
