STORM LAKE, Iowa-- The No. 9/10 Wartburg women's basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the conference standings in the 85-74 win over Buena Vista Wednesday. The Knights are now 14-1 overall and 6-0 in IIAC play while BV is 8-6, 4-1.



Four players finished in double digits for the Orange and Black as the Sommer twins Kristie and Katie led the team with 24 and 23 points, respectively. This tied a career-high for Kristie.

Katie also moved into fifth on the program's all-time career leader list in assists with 281.

Classmate Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) had 16 points and junior Aryn Jones (Marion) had a double-double with 11 points and as many rebounds.

Wartburg led 24-22 after the first quarter and never looked back. The Knights led by as many as 17 midway through the fourth quarter. The Knights held the team advantages in field goal percentage (.390 vs. .343) and free throw percentage (.707 vs. .688).

The Orange and Black return to the court Saturday when they host Central at 2 p.m.
