WAVERLY, Iowa-- Four of No. 9/10 Wartburg's starters finished in double digits in the 78-41 win over Central Saturday. Junior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) had 16 points, classmate Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) had 12, junior Aryn Jones (Marion) had 11 and classmate Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) had a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. Her assist total tied her career mark and has now moved into third all-time with 291.



The Dutch started the game on 7-4 run over the first four minutes, but the Knights answered with two consecutive treys to take the lead for good. The Orange and Black continued to maintain their double digit margin in the second half and allowed just seven points by Central in the fourth quarter.

Wartburg moved to 15-1 on the season and remained undefeated in conference play at 7-0, while the Dutch lost their fifth-straight game and are 8-7, 1-5.

The Knights held the team advantages in all three shooting categories and held Central to just .100 from behind the arc.

The Orange and Black open a two-game road swing when they travel to face Luther Wednesday at 6 p.m.
