No. 8/8 Wartburg Concludes Road Trip, Looking for Season Sweep of NWU

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 8/8 Wartburg women's basketball team (15-2 overall, 7-1 IIAC) travels to face Nebraska Wesleyan (8-7, 2-5) Saturday at 2 p.m. and look to complete the season sweep as the Knights won the first meeting of the season, 79-57, in November.

The Series
Wartburg holds the 7-1 all-time series lead.

Junior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) continues to lead the team with 14.0 PPG and is second in rebounds at 5.6/contest. Classmate Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) is the second-leading scorer at 13.5 PPG and leads the team on the glass with 6.1 rebounds/game. Twin sister Kristie rounds out the leading scorers with 10.4 PPG.

Katie currently ranks third-best on the program's all-time career leader list in assists with 296. She needs 11 to move into second. Katie is also ninth on the career leader list for three-point field goals made (105).

Kristie currently ranks sixth in that category with 145 and needs 22 to move into fifth.
Junior Aryn Jones (Marion) has moved into sixth in blocks (65). She needs two to move into fifth. 

Nebraska Wesleyan
Caitlin Navratil leads her team with 14.3 PPG. Addie Wetzel follows at 11.0 PPG and Kate Schulte completes the leading scorers at 10.9. Wetzel nearly averages a double-double at 8.7 rebounds per game.
