Trio Tallies Double Digits in Win over Prairie Wolves

LINCOLN, Neb.-- Three juniors finished in double digits for the No. 8/8 Wartburg women's basketball 61-50 win over Nebraska Wesleyan Saturday. Kristie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) led all scorers with 16 points. Aryn Jones (Marion) followed with 14 and Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) tallied 11.



Sommer made four treys and finished a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.

With the win, the Knights moved to 16-2 overall and 8-1 in IIAC games.

The Orange and Black took the 30-18 lead into the locker room at halftime after outscoring NWU 13-4 in the second quarter alone. The Prairie Wolves whittled the margin to nine points with 1:30 to play and again with :24 left, but Wartburg made its free throws to seal the 11-point win.

As a team, the Knights held the team advantages in all shooting percentages and held Nebraska Wesleyan to 12.5% from three-point range.

The Orange and Black open a two-game home stand next week when they host Coe Wednesday at 6 p.m.
