WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 12/14 Wartburg women's basketball team moved to 17-2 on the year and 9-1 in Iowa Conference games in its 83-51 win over Coe (9-10, 4-6) Wednesday.



Junior Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) led all scorers with a career-high 19 points as she made a career-best eight field goals. Three other starters joined her in double digits as classmates Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) had 15, Aryn Jones (Marion) had 11 and Miranda Murphy (Alleman) had 10 points.

Katie led the team on the glass with seven rebounds.

The Knights led 44-18 at halftime as they outscored the Kohawks 23-7 in the second frame alone. The Orange and Black continued to maintain the lead in the second half and led by as many as 40 in two occurrences.

Wartburg held the team advantages in field goal percentage (.452 vs .340) and free throw percentage (.828 vs. .786).

The Knights conclude their two-game home stand Saturday against Simpson at 2 p.m.
