No. 2/6 Wartburg Travels to Face Simpson

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 2/6 Wartburg women's basketball team (14-0 overall, 5-0 IIAC) travels to face Simpson (10-5, 4-2 IIAC). The Knights stand atop the Iowa Conference rankings, and the Storm are tied for second.

The Series
Simpson holds the all-time series lead at 49-32, but the Knights have claimed the last five-straight meetings. This includes a string of no road wins at Simpson for the Knights from 2005-2014, and the next regular season win occurred the following season in 2015.

Senior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) leads the team with 12.6 PPG and is second with 5.4 rebounds/game.

Classmate Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) follows at 11.9 PPG and has a team-high 87 assists, and 25 steals. She is the ninth leading scorer in the IIAC at 13.4 PPG and leads the conference with 6.8 assists/game. Twin sister Kristie follows in 11th with 13.0 PPG.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) leads the team with 5.9 rebounds/game and has a team-best 20 blocks.

Career Leader List Watch
Katie ranks 11th with 1,136 points, the all-time career leader with 437 assists, seventh with 144 three-point field goals, and third with 364 free throws.

Twin sister Kristie ranks second with 207 three-point field goals. She needs 10 to tie the all-time mark of 217, set by Samantha Harrington from 2007-11.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) ranks fourth with 96 blocked shots.

Simpson
Noreen Morrow leads the team with 14.9 PPG and 7.9 rebounds/game. Kelli Hanson follows at 12.0 PPG

In IIAC games. Morrow has 18.5 PPG, and Victoria Hazard averages 11.2.
