No. 2/6 Wartburg Hosts Buena Vista

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 2/6 Wartburg women's basketball team (15-0 overall, 6-0 IIAC) hosts Buena Vista (8-7, 3-3) Monday at 6 p.m. The Knights continue to stand atop the IIAC standings, while BV is tied for fourth.

The Series
Wartburg owns the all-time series lead at 40-36, which includes the last three meetings.

Senior Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) is the new leading scorer for the Knights with 12.9 PPG. She also has a team-high 94 assists, and 28 steals. She is the eighth leading scorer in the IIAC at 15.5 PPG and leads the conference with 6.7 assists/game.

Classmate Miranda Murphy (Alleman) follows with 12.1 PPG and is second with 5.2 rebounds/game. Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) leads the team with 5.8 rebounds/game and has a team-best 20 blocks.

In IIAC games, senior Kristie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) is the 11th leading scorer with 12.7 PPG.

Career Leader List Watch
Katie moved into 10th with 1,162 points, the all-time career leader with 444 assists, seventh with 150 three-point field goals, and third with 370 free throws.

Twin sister Kristie ranks second with 209 three-point field goals. She needs eight to tie the all-time mark of 217, set by Samantha Harrington from 2007-11.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) ranks fourth with 96 blocked shots.

Buena Vista
Jasmine Demers is the team's leading scorer with 16.6 PPG. Morgan Muhlbaur follows at 15.6, Claudia Larson has 14.1, and Holly Schneider rounds out the leading scorers with 12.3 PPG.

Demers leads the IIAC at 21.4 PPG and 10.4 rebounds/game. Muhlbaur is the leader in three-point field goal percentage (.583).
