STORM LAKE, Iowa-- Senior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) led a trio of Wartburg players in double figures with 16 points in Wednesday's 66-55 win over Buena Vista. Sophomore Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) had 12 points and senior Aryn Jones (Marion) completed the leading scorers with 11. Gerdes finished a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.

Jones narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds and Murphy followed with eight.

The No. 2/3 Knights moved to 20-0 overall and 11-0 in Iowa Conference games, while BV is now 10-11, 5-7. This victory completed the season sweep for the Orange and Black. This also marked the third-straight season the program has reached the 20 win mark.

Buena Vista took the narrow 11-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Wartburg used a strong 15-8 second quarter to lead 24-19 at halftime.

The score was tied three times in the third quarter, which included at 30 all with 7:23 left in the frame. The Knights compiled an 8-2 run over the next three minutes to regain the lead for good. The Orange and Black later led by as many as 13 late in the fourth.

Wartburg returns home Saturday when it hosts Simpson at 2 p.m.
