No. 18/19 Wartburg Hosts Simpson

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 18/19 Wartburg women's basketball team (3-1 overall) hosts Simpson (3-0) Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the American Rivers Conference opener.

The Series
Simpson leads the all-time series at 49-34, but the Knights have won the last seven-straight, which dates back to the 2014-15 season.

Wartburg
Senior Adrienne Boettger (Cedar Falls) leads the team with 12.3 PPG and sophomore Tori Hazard (Janesville) joins her in double digits with 11.3 PPG and has a team-high 18 assists.

Junior Amanda Brainerd (DeWitt) is the leading rebounder (5.5/game).
 
Simpson
Three players average in double figures as Jenna Taylor has 23.7 PPG, Cameron Kincaid has 12.0, and Janey Botkins has 10.0. Taylor averages a double-double with a team-high 10.3 rebounds.

National Stat Rankings
Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of 11 statistical categories, the NCAA released Monday. The Knights are: second in field goal percentage (51.0), 10th in assists per game (19.8), 20th in three-point field goal percentage defense (19.8), 32nd in fewest fouls (51), 47th in scoring margin (17.0), 52nd in assist to turnover ratio (1.04), 75th in assists (79), 76th in scoring offense (72.5), 78th in rebound margin (6.5), 82nd in won/loss percentage (75.0), and 91st in scoring defense (55.5).

Individually, three Knights rank in three categories. Boettger leads the nation in field goal percentage (84.6), Hazard is 77th in assists/game (4.5), and Gerdes is 81st in assist to turnover ratio (2.13).
