WAVERLY, Iowa-- Senior Kristie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) became the 14th player in program history to surpass the 1,000 career point mark in Saturday's 88-68 win over Simpson. The No.2/3 Knights (21-0 overall, 12-0 IIAC) also completed the season sweep over the Storm (12-10, 6-7) with the victory.
Kristie is the first player to accomplish this career mark since twin sister Katie did this in November. Kristie now has 1,011 points to date, which ranks 13th-best all-time.
She reached the 1,000 mark on her second free throw in the first quarter, as she finished with 13 points on the day.

Katie scored a career-best 32 points, which was just five shy of the school record. She had 22 points in the first half alone. Katie broke her previous mark of 27, which she has accomplished in three previous games.
Senior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) rounded out the leading scorers with 14 points and a team-best eight rebounds.
Simpson took the narrow 22-21 lead after the first quarter. The Orange and Black used a 20-8 second quarter to take the 11 point lead at halftime. The Storm made it a three-point game with 6:54 left in the third (44-41). Wartburg responded with a 9-0 run over the next two minutes to push the margin to double digits once more.
The Knights owned the team advantages in field goal percentage (.519 vs. .462), free throw percentage (.781 vs. .550), rebounds (35-27), and assists (20-15).
The Orange and Black return to the court Wednesday on the road against Luther.
