CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- The No. 19/20 Wartburg women's basketball team moved to 15-3 on the season and 8-1 in American Rivers Conference games in the 89-65 win over Coe (10-8, 4-5) Monday.
Four players finished in double digits as junior Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) led the contingent with 16 points, 10 of which were in the first half alone. Junior Katie Lindeman (Grundy Center) followed with a career-high 15, senior Adrienne Boettger (Cedar Falls) had 14, and sophomore Ally Conrad (Cedar Falls) also had a career-high 12 points.
Conrad and Lindeman each made four treys on the night, which set a new mark for Conrad and a tie for Lindeman.
Gerdes and Boettger each had a team-high four rebounds.
The Knights opened the game on a 9-0 run and never looked back, as they later led 20-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Orange and Black continued to lead by exactly 68-48). 20 at halftime (52-32), and at the end of the third quarter (68-48).
Wartburg held the team advantages in all three shooting percentage categories, including .696 from three-point range, the best in a single game over the past four seasons. Defensively, the Knights held the Kohawks to .269 from beyond the arc.
The Orange and Black return to Waverly for a two-game home stand, with Loras as the first opponent Wednesday at 6 p.m.
