WAVERLY, Iowa - The No. 7-ranked Wartburg women's basketball team had a 91-54 victory over Saint Mary's at home on Friday night. This was the first matchup between the two teams since 2002.
The Knight's started off the game strong with a 10-point lead over the Saint Mary's Cardinals.
Ally Conrad notched a 3-pointer two minutes into the game, the first of 15 3-pointers in the game.Â
Amanda Brainerd led the Knights with 14 points, followed by Conrad and
Tori Hazard who each contributed 12 points. Ten other Knights scored, with 40 points coming from the bench.Â
The Orange and Black were 33-of-54 in field goal shooting and were 15-26 from the arc.Â
Hazard led the team with six rebounds and contributed two steals and one block.
Emma Gerdes tallied four assists and had a steal.Â
The team had a combined 33 rebounds, nine steals and three blocks.
Next up, the Knights will host the Wartburg Holiday Tournament where the Orange and Black will face Baldwin Wallace on Sunday, Dec. 29 and will face either UW-La Crosse or WashUÂ on Sunday.Â
