DUBUQUE, Iowa-- The No. 14/15 Wartburg women's basketball team (22-3 overall, 15-1 A-R-C) three-peated as the regular season conference champions in the 88-59 win over Dubuque Saturday. The victory also increased its winning streak to 11.
The Knights have solidified the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament next week, and will host the winner of Luther/Coe Thursday at 7 p.m.

This marked the second third-peat in program history, as the first string was the 2000-01, 2001-02, and 2002-03 seasons.
Sophomore Tori Hazard (Janesville) led the team with 10 points. Junior Amanda Brainerd (DeWitt) and Katie Lindeman (Grundy Center), and sophomores Ally Conrad (Cedar Falls) and Kaitlyn Volesky (Mount Vernon) all finished with nine points.
Volesky had a career-high 11 rebounds to lead the team.
The game was tied 5-5 with 5:46 to play in the first. Then, Lindeman completed a three-point play with her jumper and the foul to push the lead to three. After a free throw by the Spartans, Wartburg made three-straight treys to make the margin 11 with 3:25 left. The Knights later led by 14 at the end of the frame as Volesky made one of her career-high three three-pointers as time expired.
The Orange and Black led 57-27 at the end of the half, and 73-38 at the end of the third.
Wartburg held the team advantages in all three shooting percentage categories rebounds (41-35), assists (23-11), and steals (11-8).
The Knights are off from competition until next Thursday.
