No. 15/16 Wartburg Travels to Face Luther

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 15/16 Wartburg women's basketball team (18-3 overall, 11-1 American Rivers) travel to face Luther (9-10, 8-4) Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Knights are in first place in the A-R-C standings, and the Norse are in fourth.

The Series
Wartburg owns the all-time series lead at 45-42. The Knights have claimed five of the last six meetings. The Norse were victorious, 75-63, in the first meeting of the season in Waverly.

The Knights have already clinched a spot in the conference tournament at the end of the month.

Senior Adrienne Boettger (Cedar Falls) leads the team with 13.3 PPG and junior Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) follows at 11.7 PPG. Gerdes has a team-best 5.8 rebounds/game and 94 assists.

Boettger has a team-best .710 field goal percentage, while junior Amanda Brainerd (DeWitt) leads the team from beyond the arc (.415) and from the free throw line (.837).

Single Season Record Watch
Boettger's field goal percentage stands second on the single season leader list. Gerdes' assist total is tied for 10th best.

Luther
Sarah Holtz leads her team with 13.6 PPG and 6.9 rebounds/game. Laura Hamilton joins her in double figures at 12.7.

Against the Conference
Wartburg leads the league in scoring margin (20.3), free throw percentage (.791), assists (20.8) and assist:turnover ratio (1.26).

Boettger is the A-R-C's fifth-leading scorer (14.3 PPG) and leads the conference in field goal percentage (.691). Gerdes is the fifth-leading rebounder (7.4) and is the leader in assists (4.5).

Brainerd leads the league from the free throw line (.865).
