WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 11/15 Wartburg women's basketball team (26-3 overall) will face No. 13/13 UW-Oshkosh (26-3) Friday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament. St. Thomas will serve as host. No. 5/6 Amherst will play No. 2/3 St. Thomas in the other Sweet Sixteen round game at 8 p.m. Friday's winners will advance to Saturday's Elite Eight game at 7 p.m.

The Series
The all-time series is tied at 3-3. Wartburg has won the last three straight meetings, which includes the NCAA Tournament game on March 5, 2016 in Oshkosh en route to the program's first Final Four appearance.
Wartburg
This marks the fourth-straight and 13
th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the program, and the third Sweet Sixteen game in the last four seasons. The Knights are 19-12 in the Big Dance and have advanced to two Final Fours.
Senior Adrienne Boettger (Cedar Falls) leads the team with 12.7 PPG and junior Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) follows at 11.7 PPG. Gerdes has a team-best 5.6 rebounds/game and 137 assists.
Boettger has a team-best .702 field goal percentage, while junior Amanda Brainerd (DeWitt) leads the team from beyond the arc (.439) and from the free throw line (.867).

UW-Oshkosh
The Titans earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as they won the WIAC tournament championship. UW-Oshkosh advanced to the Sweet Sixteen on a last-second shot by Nikki Arneson to defeat DePauw, 54-52.
Isabella Samuels leads her team with 10.3 PPG. Melanie Schneider has a team-high 4.7 rebounds/game.
