WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg men's tennis will concluded the Fall portion of its 2020-21 campaign on Friday, Oct. 2 at 3:30 p.m. when they host the Cornell College Rams (3-0). The Knights will look to stop the three-game losing skid against the Rams and close the gap in the all-time series as Wartburg is 20-22 against Cornell.Â
Spectators are permitted and are required to follow campus masking and social distancing guidelines. Details HERE.
The Knights (1-0) competed at the American Rivers Conference individual tournament last weekend and earned a pair of bronze medalists. Freshman
Cade Davis made his collegiate debut at the event and took home third place in the B-Singles bracket. The duo of junior
Lucas Huffman and freshman
Jackson Eells battled in the A-Doubles round-robin competition and came away with a third-place finish.Â
Wartburg has only played in one official match this school year and faired well, winning the contest 6-3 over Saint Ambrose. The Knights compiled a 5-1 ledger in singles play and a 1-2 record in doubles during their season debut. The Fighting Bees are a mutual opponent between Wartburg and Cornell as the Rams defeated Saint Ambrose 4-3 just last week.Â
At the conclusion of Friday's contest, The Knights will move toward their spring schedule that is still to be determined and will be released on a later date.Â
