SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Wartburg men's tennis team closed its fall season competing at the ITA Midwest Regional as well as the Midwest Open hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College on Oct. 1-3.

The ITA Singles tournament saw three Knights in competition:
Cade Davis,
Jackson Eells and
Lucas Huffman. Eells and Huffman both fell in the first round, but Davis picked up a first round victory over Michael Janes of University of Wisconsin-Superior in straight sets. Davis would fall in the following round.
The ITA Doubles draw saw the team of Eells and Huffman pick up a first round win before being defeated in the second round by the #9 seeded team of Joseph Punnoose/Caleb Fridinger from Gustavus.

In the Midwest Open Singles tournament, the Knights had 12 student athletes competing for them.
AJ Wilkins had the Orange & Black's best finish. finished in the top four after being defeated in the semifinals, on his way to the semis he picked up four wins after a first round bye.
Jeff Miller won his first and second round matches, and
Joseph Haag also picked up a first round win.

On the doubles side of the Midwest Open, Wartburg had six teams competing. The teams of
Cade Davis and Wilkins as well as
Luke Smith and
Shimon Yonekura had the best finish for the Knights. Both teams won its first round match and fell in the second round.
All consolation play was canceled due to weather.

The Knights have concluded with their fall schedule and will be back in action for the spring season.
