Women's Basketball Hits the Road for Game at UW-Stout

WAVERLY, Iowa—Hitting the road for the first time this season, the No. 10 Wartburg Knights women's basketball squad will travel to UW-Stout for a midweek matchup.
In the sixth meeting between the squad, the Knights have yet to drop a match to the Blue Devils of UW-Stout. 

The Knights and Blue Devils are slated for a 7 p.m. tip-off in Menomonie, Wis.

Looking to Keep Winning Streak Alive

The Knights and Blue Devils have met five prior times, with the Knights holding a 5-0 record. The last meeting between the teams came on Dec. 11, 2019, as the Knights posted an 80-56 win over the Blue Devils inside Levick Arena.

The charity line played a role as the Knights went 15-of-18 from the line, while UW-Stout made two trips (4-of-4). Trailing by seven in rebounds, the Knights shot 47.4% in the last meeting, while shooting over 42% from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils shot 36%, while making three 3-pointers from beyond the arc.
 
Previewing the Blue Devils

The Blue Devils have posted wins over UW-Superior and Bethel University, while dropping a road match to Loras last weekend.

The Blue Devils are led by Anna Mutch (13.7 ppg), Amanda Giesen (12 ppg), and Lizzy Olsem (11 ppg). Olsem was part of the team that fell to the Knights two seasons ago. Mutch leads the Blue Devils in rebounding (7.7 rpg).

Last Time Out

The Knights rolled to an 84-37 victory over the Fontbonne University Griffins on Nov. 6. The Knights held the Griffins to 13 first half points as Jaedon Murphy led the Knights in scoring with 13 points of 5-of-11 field goals and making both free throw attempts.

Sara Faber added 11 points, while Brea Dillavou tallied 10 for the Knights. Faber, Hannah Anderson, and Marissa Bartels were perfect from the free throw line (2-of-2) as the Knights missed only three free throws in the contest (83.3%). Macy Harris led the Knights in the rebounding category, collecting seven boards.
