WAVERLY, Iowa— The Wartburg Knights wrestling squad, who holds the No. 1 position in the country in the D3wrestle.com poll, is set for the annual Desert Duals tournament.
This will be the 19th year the event has been held in the Flamingo Ballrooms in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 19. Duals will start at 8 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
Teams making up the competition include Concordia Moorhead, Alvernia University, North Central College, Buena Vista, Lyon College, New Mexico Highlands University, Dixie State University, Arizona Christian, Grand Canyon University, Ottawa University (AZ), UNLV Wrestling Club, and Wayland Baptist.
This year's competition will be the first to include a women's team lineup featuring, North Central, Tiffin, Dixie State, Grand Canyon, Ottawa, Corban University, and Wayland Baptist.

Eric Keller said. "It is such a great event. I can't wait to get there. It's six mats filling up an entire ballroom. Fans are right next to the mats, and we are wrestling under chandeliers, big chandeliers. (FloWrestling.com).

The top-ranked Wartburg Wrestling squad continued their winning streak, defeating Olivet College (44-3) and University of Wisconsin-Platteville (24-15) at the Dick Walker Duals inside Levick Arena. The Knights won 133, 141, 149, and 157 weight classes in both duals as top-ranked Knights wrestlers took the mat.
