WAVERLY, Iowa—Starting a slate of home duals, the No. 1 Wartburg Knights wrestling program is set to honor Kenny Anderson and Aaron Wernimont during the Anderson/Wernimont duals on Dec. 3.
The Norse of Luther are slated to take on the Knights inside Levick Arena with the dual slated to begin at 7 p.m.
The Knights hold a 50-17 series edge over the Norse. The Knights have not dropped a dual meet against the Norse since the 1986-87 season

Against A-R-C Opponents
The Knights swept Nebraska Wesleyan on Nov. 17 in their home opener and defeated Simpson College in the opening dual of the season.

The Anderson/Wernimont Duals are held in honor of Anderson and Wernimont, members of the Wartburg wrestling family.
A three-time NCAA Champion, Anderson, a 2014 graduate, held a 76-3 career record as a lightweight and led the Knights to national championships in 2012 at 125-pounds, and at 133 in 2013 and 2014. Anderson is one of only three three-time national champions for Wartburg Wrestling.
Wernimont, a 2009 Wartburg graduate, was a three-time All-American and two-time NCAA Champion at 157 lbs., as a four-year member of the Wartburg wrestling team. He closed out his career as a Knight with 80 consecutive wins and sits second on the program's all-time wins list with 150.

In the Intermat Wrestling poll, released on Nov. 30, 2021, the Wartburg Knights wrestling program sits atop the rankings with 72 points.

Pannell at Junior Pan-American Games
Sophomore
Eli Pannell represented Team USA this week at the Junior Pan-American Games in Cali, Colombia.
Pannell, a native of Fulton, Illinois, took home the bronze medal at 130kg in Greco-Roman.
Last Time Out
Damari Dancy took home the individual title at the HWT level at the Augsburg Open while Mulder, took home the top honor at the Concordia Open.
Jacob McBride took home top honors at the Concordia Open in the consolation bracket at 141.
The Knights placed individuals on the podium nine times at the Augsburg Open and ten times at the Concordia Open. Six of the ten top finishers at the Concordia Open were inside the top 3, including second place finishes from
Terukina and
Pins.
