OWATONNA, Minn. - Wartburg men's tennis concluded its weekend road trip with a 3-6 defeat against Hamline University on Saturday, March 6 in Owatonna. The contest marked just the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs.Â
The Knights (3-6, 0-1 A-R-C) will return home on Friday, March 12 when they play host to Northwestern College (2-3, 0-0 GPAC) at the Blackhawk Tennis Club in Waterloo, Iowa with first serve set for 4:30 p.m.Â
The Orange & Black faced a 2-1 deficit after the doubles competition as the pair of
Hunter Gerhardt and
Jared Hefel were the only duo to secure a victory. Junior
Lucas Huffman kept his hot streak going when he defeated his opponent at the No. 1 position in straight sets. Freshman
Cade Davis improved to 5-3 in his collegiate debut season when he came away victorious in his No. 3 singles match.Â
