WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg men's tennis downed Nebraska Wesleyan University 8-1 on Saturday, April 10 at the Meirink Family Tennis Facility. The Knights have now rattled off six straight wins and are now 3-1 in the American Rivers Conference.Â
The Orange & Black (9-9, 3-1 A-R-C) will continue their four-game homestand on Thursday, April 15 when they host Central College (1-1, 1-1 A-R-C) at 4 p.m.Â
Wartburg began the match with a 3-0 lead after taking all three doubles matches.
Lucas Huffman and
Jackson Eells kept their hot streak alive with their eighth consecutive victory at the No. 1 doubles spot.
Luke Smith improved to 2-0 in doubles with a win at the No. 3 position while the duo of
Cade Davis and
Nile Petersen earned win number five.Â
Junior Huffman recorded yet another straight set victory at the No. 1 singles position and Eells registered his second win in a row at the No. 2 spot. Davis, Petersen and
Sam Yoon concluded the match for the Knights with all straight set wins. Wartburg is now 61-47 in singles and 29-25 in doubles.Â
