WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg men's tennis will continue through its American Rivers Conference schedule on Tuesday, April 20 when it takes on Luther College at home at 4 p.m.
Spectators are permitted to attend Wartburg outdoor athletic events and are required to follow campus masking and social distancing guidelines. Fans must all wear face masks outdoors when we cannot absolutely guarantee a physical distance of at least six feet from others. Details HERE.Â
The Knights (9-10, 3-2 A-R-C) saw their six-game win streak come to an end on Thursday, April 15 when they fell to Central College, 5-4.
Lucas Huffman led the way once again for the Orange & Black when he came away with victories at the No. 1 doubles and singles position. Wartburg currently sits in fifth place in the A-R-C with three matches to play.Â
Junior Huffman leads the way for Wartburg with a 15-4 record in singles play at the No. 1 position and is 9-1 in his last 10 and 6-0 in his last six. The Marion, Iowa native is now just three victories away from becoming the all-time wins leader at the No. 1 singles spot.
Freshman
Cade Davis has also performed well for the Knights with a 13-4 ledger in singles. SeniorÂ

Nile Petersen have also reached the 10-win plateau this season.Â
In doubles, Huffman has been just as dominate with a 14-5 tally at the No. 1 spot. Huffman's counterpart for much of the season, freshman
Jackson Eells, is a solid 13-5 in doubles. As a team, Wartburg is 64-50 in singles and 30-27 in doubles.Â
Luther College comes into the contest with a 7-4 record and are yet to be beaten in conference play. The Norse are coming off a 5-4 defeat against Carleton College on Sunday, April 18, which was their first loss since March 27. Nyathi Motlojoa leads the Norse with a 12-1 tally in singles play and is 4-0 at the No. 1 position. The duo of Max Loen and Brook Norwood pace Luther with an 11-3 record in doubles.Â
