EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Wartburg women's basketball (1-1) fell to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (1-0) 94-83 in a high scoring matchup.
 
Scoring Summary
First Half

• Maggie Wilkins scored the first five points of the game for Wartburg
• A jumper from Lauren Woeste tied the game at nine each
• After being tied at 13, the Blugolds ended the first quarter on a 6-0 run to lead 19-13
• UW-Eau Claire scored five quick points in the second quarter to go up 11 points
• With just under 6:30 to play in the half, the Blugolds led by 11 still
• A five-point run from Macy Harris cut the lead to 34-28
• Britney Young and Murphy both hit threes to close the half, but UW-Eau Claire held a seven point lead at the break

 
Second Half

• The Blugolds stretched the lead to up to 13 points in the third quarter
• Wartburg then went on a 11-0 run to cut the lead to 60-58 with over two minutes left in the third
• A Murphy three ball tied the game at 65 and then she hit two free throws to give the Knights a 67-65 lead after three quarters
• UW-Eau Claire started on a 6-0 run to retake the lead early in the fourth quarter
• The Orange & Black tied it back up with 4:30 left after a Britney Young three pointer
• The Blugolds closed on a 15-4 run to secure a 94-83 win
• Wartburg ended 42.9% from the field and 47.1% from beyond the arc
