Women's Basketball Set for A-R-C Tournament Championship

WAVERLY, Iowa— Making their fifth appearance in six years, the No. 18 Wartburg College Knights will travel to Simpson College for the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament Championship game. The Knights and Storm are slated to tip-off at 4 p.m. in Indianola, Iowa.
 
Wartburg have five conference tournament titles and looks to grab their first since 2020. The winner of the tournament will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
 
The selection show is scheduled for February 28 at 12:30 p.m. (CT) on NCAA.com.

Previewing the Storm
 
After sweeping the Knights in the regular season, the Storm went onto claim the A-R-C Regular Season Conference Championship. The Storm are averaging 87.7 points per game while holding their opponents to 62.6 ppg.
 
The Storm are shooting 49 percent from the field and 39 percent from behind the arc. At the line, the Storm average 15.2 free throws per game (81 percent). Grabbing 39.4 rebounds per game, the Storm are recording 21.8 assists per game, 14.5 turnovers, and 13.5 steals per game.  
 
Jenna Taylor is leading the Storm in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.9 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game. The Storm are averaging four additional athletes in double-digit scoring per game (Cassie Nash-15.2 ppg, Cameron Kincaid-12.8 ppg, Anna Wanek-11.1 ppg, Regan Freland-10.8 ppg).

The Knights handle the ball well this season, recording 14 turnovers per game. The Knights are a top team for assists, recording 15.5 per game.
 
The Knights, who are second in the league in scoring offense, average 76.9 points per game. Having one of the top defenses in the league, the Knights are holding their opponents to 60.6 points per game.
 
The Knights are averaging 41 percent from the field, while shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc. At the free throw line, the Knights are making 13.9 free throws per contest (74 percent). The Knights are recording 39.2 rebounds per game. The Knights have recorded 265 made three-pointers this season (10.6 made per game) to lead the conference in both categories.
 
The Knights are led by Jaedon Murphy, averaging 15.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Sara Faber (10.5 ppg), Macy Harris (9.6 ppg), and Hannah Anderson (9 ppg) are offensive forces for the Orange & Black. Harris adds 4.7 rebounds per game while Britney Young leads the team in assists this season (78 total).

In the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, the Knights have dropped out of the top-25 but are still receiving votes.
