Last Time Out
The Knights defeated the Knights of Martin Luther College on the road Saturday, Apr. 9 in a decisive 8-1 dual.
Jeff Miller and
Hunter Gerhardt teamed up for the first time this season and won in number one doubles. The duo of
Joseph Haag and
Jack Veber moved to 2-0 overall as a team after getting the win in the second doubles position.
Sam Yoon and
Shimon Yonekura's win in the third doubles spot is their first win together this season.
Haag led the Knights in singles play with his third number one singles win of the season. The only match that Wartburg didn't win was the fourth singles match.
Season Leaders
Lucas Huffman leads the Orange & Black in singles wins this season with an overall record of 16-3. All the senior's 16 wins have come at the number one position.
Jackson Eells has an overall record of 11-7 between matches in the second and third singles position. His 11 singles wins are the third most on the team.
Kyle Sehlin has 12 wins for the Knights this season and most of the matches came in the number six spot, where he has a record of 9-3.
The team of Huffman and Eells have played all their doubles matches at number one, where they have a record of 13-5.
The Orange & Black have two undefeated duos in doubles with the teams of
Nile Petersen/
Jeff Miller and
Cade Davis/
Griffin Steiniger. Petersen and Miller are 6-0 together with five wins coming in the third spot and one win at number one doubles. Davis and Steiniger are 5-0 in number two doubles competition.
Central
The Dutch enter the contest with a 7-7 record and have won two of their last three A-R-C matchups. In its last contest, Central defeated Buena Vista University 9-0.
Ayden Fletcher leads the Dutch in singles wins this season with a 12-7 record overall. Fletcher also has seven wins with two different partners in doubles play. Brad DiLeo and Caleb Hamerlinck also have seven doubles wins for the Dutch with all the wins coming at the third doubles position.
Series History
The all-time series dates back to the 1954-55 season, where the Knights opened the series with a win. The Dutch lead the series with a record of 51-26 over Wartburg and have won the last four matchups.
