No. 7/8 Knights Clinch A-R-C Championship With 95-25 Win Over BVU

WAVERLY, Iowa – No. 7/8 women's basketball had four players in double figures as they rolled past Buena Vista 95-25. The Knights clinched their 11th American Rivers Conference regular season championship. Wartburg moves to 22-2 overall and 15-0 in Conference play.

  • First Half
    • First Quarter
      • Jaedon Murphy started the scoring for the Knights with four points and four offensive rebounds followed by a three-point play from Macy Harris to make it 7-2 halfway through the first
      • Lauren Woeste made a layup and Lauren Donlea made one from the line to keep the lead at five for the Knights
      • Wartburg ended the first on a 15-3 run to take a 25-8 lead into the second
        • Sara Faber had six on the run, Murphy with five, Harris and Woeste each added two
    • Second Quarter
      • The Knights started the second quarter on a 12-0 run sparked by eight points from Britney Young to put the Knights up 29 early in the second
        • Woeste and Harris each added a layup
      • Over the next four minutes Murphy sparked a Wartburg 14-2 run with eight points of her own to extend the lead to 51-10
      • Woeste ended the half with five straight points to give the Knights a 56-12 lead at the break
  • Second Half
    • Third Quarter
      • Murphy converted on a three-point play to start the half for the Knights followed by a free throw from Faber and a layup by Harris to extend the lead to 50
      • Wartburg added another 12-2 run over the next three minutes with Lauren Golinghorst scoring nine during the run
      • Zoey Long made a three-pointer while Golinghorst added a layup to make it 79-17 Wartburg after three quarters of play
    • Fourth Quarter
      • Tatum Grubbs started the scoring in the fourth with a made free throw to extend the lead to 63
      • Wartburg continued their hot scoring with a 11-3 run sparked by three-pointers from Long and Jenna Saunders
      • The Knights finished the game at the line as they knocked down four free throws to defeat BVU 95-25
