INDIANAPOLIS— Aubrie Fisher and Kaylie Springer both received an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, the NCAA announced today. The pair are the 48th and 49th recipients from Wartburg. With these two selections, that marks three NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships for this past academic year, as Owen Grover of football earned one this past fall, which ties the academic year school record.

Fisher is the 12th recipient from the cross country and track and field programs, and Springer is the fifth recipient from the softball team. Fisher is the first recipient from the programs since Erica Rittgers in 2017. This marks the second-straight year a Wartburg softball student-athlete has been selected, as Sydney Illg received one of these scholarships in 2023.

Fisher plans to attend Mount Mercy University and earn her MBA. She will be a graduate assistant with the cross country and track and field programs.

Springer plans to attend graduate school in the Public Health program at the University of Iowa

The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically. The one-time non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season, there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women. All former student-athletes who earned an undergraduate degree from an NCAA member school are eligible to be nominated for an NCAA graduate degree scholarship, regardless of when they received their undergraduate degree.

The NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship was created in 1964 to promote and encourage graduate education by rewarding the Association's most accomplished student-athletes. Athletics and academic achievements, campus involvement, community service, volunteer activities and demonstrated leadership are evaluated.
